Gansen-ji temple

Temple with flowers in the south part of Kyoto.

About 1 hour by train and 30 minutes by bus, there is a temple called Gansen-ji which is known as a flower temple. You can enjoy azaleas, wild cherries or other flowers in spring. It also has an important statue of Buddha which is designated as a Japanese important cultural property. About 30 minutes hiking from this temple, you can visit one more temple called Joruri-ji which has a beautiful garden and national treasures.
